Afua is currently the founder and Managing Partner at Delwik Group a venture capital firm. She is a senior Finance and Investment Executive with over 22 years’ experience in Private Equity, Investment Banking, Project Finance and Asset Management in Europe, America, Asia and Africa.
She has experience in Fundraising, Deal Origination, Deal Execution, Exits, Due Diligence, Value Creation and Portfolio Monitoring. She also has extensive investment experience working in Europe, America and Asia. Afua held Board Director roles for the Daraju Industries Limited, Mustang Chemicals and West African Packaging for 4 years util 2023 when her tenure was completed. She is a board member at Consolidated Bank Ghana CBG and the Chairwoman of the Risk Committee at the African Solidarity Fund, a Pan African Fund.
She also previously worked as an Investment professional at African Capital Alliance, BlackRhino (a Blackstone portfolio company) and as a project financier at Barclays Africa in South Africa. Afua has also worked in New York and London as an M&A banker at Deutsche Bank, and within asset management at Black Rock and Goldman Sachs in the US.
Prior to her MBA, she was in Shanghai, China with Simon Murray China Fund (now Red Gate Asset Management), a Private Equity Firm. Afua has cross border and cross sector experience in Technology, Power, Renewable Energy, as well as FMCG.
Afua holds a dual degree in Mathematics (Cum Laude) from Mount Holyoke and in Mechanical Engineering from Dartmouth's Thayer School of Engineering and an MBA from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business. Afua obtained her Series 6 and 79 Investment Banking License in New York, as well as her FSA in London
Afua has 3 successful investments exited, most recently involving DEG - Deutsche Investitions-und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH, Germany’s development finance institution and a subsidiary of KfW.
